  • Knowing the roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
  • Handling and disposing of hazardous chemicals and environmental hazards
  • Mitigating the risks of physical hazards
  • Preparing for Emergencies
  • Reporting Bullying and Harassment policies and procedures

Learners will be able to:

  • Describe the different health and safety roles and responsibilities in their school district
  • Know how to report an accident or incident
  • Identify various chemical and environmental hazards
  • Prepare to use potential hazardous chemicals
  • Recognize physical hazards
  • Identify how to perform physical tasks safely (e.g., lifting, ladder setup)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures
  • Define discrimination and bullying and harassment behaviour
  • Describe policies regarding discrimination and bullying and harassment and know how to report it
