The Home Facilitator's Guide provides parents and guardians with information they need to help their student work through Health and Career Education 8.
Overviews of topics, activities and resources for each lesson are offered, as well as sug gestions for extension and enrichment to encourage personal relevance and home- school-community connections. Throughout lessons, students are encouraged to discuss topics and ideas with their home facilitator. The guide helps parents put these topics in context with the overall learning outcomes of the course.
Please Note: There are topics in Module 2, It's Your Health, that some parents may be uncomfortable with. Parents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the module before their student begins it. If parents wish to address topics in a manner different from the module, they should talk to their school about alternatives. More information can be found at http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/policy/
