French 11, version 02 (Print)

French 11 is a course and resource package based on the French 11 core program. Although this course is based on a program called En Direct 1, we have modified many activities to meet the needs of distance education students. Students will follow the new instructions, not those in the workbook and textbook of En Direct 1.

Please note we no longer stock blank audio cassette tapes required for recording oral answers. Students need to provide their own.

Education and work are the ever-important subjects of Module 3. In Section 1 and Section 2, you will review various aspects of school and expand what you already know. You will explore issues about part-time work and education and learn about special-interest schools. You will also learn to use the conditional tense to make suggestions. As for Section 3, its focus is on school rules, possible changes, and education across the world. Section 4 will focus on the video Le Caf des Rves and help prepare you for the module test.

In Section 1, you will read, discuss, and write about dramatic arts and the idea of comedy. Dramatic art forms, such as film, theatre, and dance, and literary art forms, such as poems and fables, enrich the experience of French while giving you an opportunity to expand and perfect language elements that you have already studied. Dramatisations, dialogues, and fairy tales are the subjects of Section 2. Section 3 looks at docudramas and mystery. Section 4 will include activities on the video Le Caf des Rves and a preparation for the module test.
