Physics 11, version 03 (Print)

Physics 11 has been revised to meet the Ministry of Education's Physics 11 IRP (2006). The revisions include:

---removal of content no longer covered in the curriculum
---addition of new content (Hooke's Law, curved lenses and mirrors)
---restructuring and reorganization of content
---revisions to module tests to reflect content changes
---inclusion (in the Teacher's Guide) of a lesson-by-lesson alignment to the BC Ministry of Education's Physics 11 Integrated Resource Package (2006)
---reformatting of all content (including tests and the Teacher's Guide) to match Open School BC's new layout standards

In Physics 11, students will focus on the study of light, motion, forces, and energy. Throughout this course students will be asked to observe, measure and analyse natural phenomena using the scientific method. By performing experiments, testing hypotheses, and using models, students will investigate some of the central ideas of physics. This course has been designed so students without access to a laboratory can complete the necessary experimental work, however, it is preferable to do the experiments in a regular laboratory.

PLEASE NOTE: The textbook "Fundamentals of Physics (Alternate Edition 1981)" (ISBN-10: 0-669-95010-6 or ISBN-13: 978-0-669-95010-6) is referred to in this course. Stock may be low or depleted already. Students need to purchase their own from local libraries, publishers, or online book stores.

Please note that student term tests and instructional guides (answer keys for section assignments and term tests) are available for most of our courses.
