Social Studies 8 offers a course and its related resources that are delivered seamlessly to your school, in online or print formats. Social Studies 8 is extremely useful to teachers committed to improving access to basic education by developing flexible, learner-focused programs.
This course introduces students to the five interrelated curriculum organizers through the exploration of history, culture, geography, and the applications of specific skills (e.g., map interpretations, writing, research, bar graphs, comparison frameworks, etc.). The prescribed learning outcomes for Social Studies 8 have been derived from the Ministry of Education's Integrated Resource Package (1997) and are the basis for the development of the course. Social Studies 8 is designed around three modules representing a time frame from the end of the Roman Empire up to the 1700s.
Module 1: Forging Civilizations, 500-1200 Module 2: From Feudalism to the Nation-State, 1100-1700 Module 3: Kingdoms and Dynasties, 900-1600
