Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics (AWM) 10 was developed in partnership with the Distributed Learning Resources Branch of Alberta Education. In addition, several teachers from across British Columbia have contributed directly to the development of this course. We are grateful for their ongoing support and guidance throughout the development process.
Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics (AWM) 10 meets all the learning outcomes of the BC Ministry of Education's IRP (WNCP 2008).
This pathway is designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force. Topics include algebra, geometry, measurement, number, statistics and probability. (WNCP Common Curriculum Framework 2008)
AWM 10 is available in print or online delivery formats. Modules 1–4 Online are completely self-contained. No textbooks or other resources are required. The course website has useful links that students may access for additional information on a variety of related topics.
