Nutrient Management Plan Training

Purpose: To provide background, regulatory requirements, and practical information on the development of Nutrient Management Plans in B.C.

Description: A self-paced course for individuals wanting to prepare nutrient management plans for farms in British Columbia. After the completion of this course, you will be required to attend a facilitated session to continue your training.

This course typically takes between 15 and 20 hours of time to complete. You have 365 days from the date of enrolment to complete the training.

Content Covered:

  • Soil and Nutrient Basics
  • Provincial and Federal Legislation
  • Nutrient Management Plan Components (in B.C.)
  • How to Complete a Nutrient Management Plan
  • Nutrient Sources on Farms
  • Nutrient Balancing and Application

Each module features content and activities to support learning, followed by a quiz. Quizzes must be passed with a minimum of 70% to move on to the next module.

In order to participate in the facilitated session, you must complete all five modules and their associated quizzes.
